Ebony Lenice Shepard, 41, was born on May 27, 1981, in Maywood, Illinois to Kathy Shepard and John Pendleton Jr. Later, she moved to Louisville, Kentucky. She accepted Christ at a young age and always believed in her Lord and Savior. Ebony had a passion for music, she loved to sing at every family event and had a God-given gift of making you laugh with her funny jokes. She enjoyed cooking for her family when she was home. Ebony had a kind heart and loving spirit when she was around her family and friends. Her smile was the widest you could ever imagine, but you could never tell because she was an avid "thumb sucker". At the age of 41, she still enjoyed sucking her thumb.
Ebony loved her family very much, especially her children, five boys and one daughter. She would always promise she was going to get right and make a way for them. Ebony was a great person inside and out. Her heart was huge, and she loved everyone. No matter what, she would always tell her family she loved them. She loved all her cousins, sisters and close family unconditionally.
Ebony was a great person and always so full of life. She was the life of any party and didn't mind showing you. She enjoyed dancing just as much as she enjoyed singing. She would have dance offs with the kids at every family gathering and was sure to win.
Ebony is preceded in death by her son, KenDell Duncan; her nephew, Le'Shaun Shepard; her maternal grandmother, Doris Jean Harris-Brown; her aunt, Debra Williams; and her cousin, Doris Sloan.
Ebony is survived by her mother, Kathy Shepard; her five children, Majustic Shepard, Sophia Angel Duncan, Joe Cory Shepard, Demontez Shepard and Heaven Shepard; her three sisters, Caprice Wilson (Donnie), Jamiee Brown and Renata Shepard (Tim), her aunts, Kim King and Helen Shepard; along with a host of cousins.
The family of Ebony Shepard wish to express their sincere gratitude to all those who have supported them during this time of bereavement.
