Krebs, Edgar Raymond KREBS, EDGAR RAYMOND "HEAVY and GUMMY," 78, of Okolona, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Franciscan Health Care Center. He was married to the former Barbara Walker for 54 years. Mr. Krebs was a native of Louisville and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He was also a former volunteer fireman for the Okolona Department. He and his wife spent many years playing Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus for the Okolona and Fairdale fire departments, and many other charitable groups. He was retired from Durkee's Famous Foods and worked at Seton Bingo Hall and St. Bernard's Catholic School. He also served as an Army medic in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Walker Krebs; infant son, Raymond A. Krebs; and granddaughter, Samantha Rae. Survivors include his daughters, Annie Krebs, Frankie Buckman (Jim) and Gwen Fischer (Tony); sons, Chris Krebs and David Krebs (Melissa); brother, Winston Krebs (Lola); seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his pet Neil. His funeral Mass is noon Thursday at Franciscan Healthcare Chapel, 2625 Fern Valley Rd. Burial: Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Arch L. Heady & Son, Okolona. Memorial contributions can be made to the WHAS Crusade for Children or the Franciscan Health Care Center.
