Edmond Darwin King ShareE-mail Visit Guest Book KING, EDMOND DARWIN, 85, of Louisville, passed away Friday, May 15, 2009. Mr. King was a United States Army veteran, serving during World War II. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1950 as a pharmacist and worked at Jewish Hospital, Louisville. He later worked for Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company, retiring in 1985 as district manager. He enjoyed his work and the wonderful people with whom he worked. Mr. King felt blessed to be able to help people, making a difference in their lives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Chlorinda Sherman King; and loved one, Johanna Meyers. Survivors include wife, Mary Fishburn; brother, Dudley King (Norma); niece, Kelly King; Aunt Dixie Sherman Demuth; cousins and other family and many friends. Special loves in his life were working on the farm with Uncle Charlie, visiting Aunt Dixie, Kentucky basketball games and caring for his beloved animals. He leaves behind eight furry friends to meet eight others waiting for him. A special thank you to the staff at Rockford Manor Nursing Home for their loving care, concern and patience. Family and friends may visit 1-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 502-447-4220, 4400 Dixie Hwy., where the funeral celebrating his life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Robert Guttman will officiate, with interment in Louisville Memorial Gardens. The family prefers, if you wish, contributions to Cedar Hills Pet Cemetery, 2467 Nashville Hwy., Columbia, TN, 38401 or the Elephant Sanctuary, PO Box 393. Hohenwald, TN, 38462, in memory of Mr. King.
