Edna G. Childers Share E-mail Visit Guest Book CHILDERS, EDNA G., 94, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family.
A native of Elizabeth, IN. and the former Edna Best, she was retired from the Commonwealth of KY where she was the lunchroom manager for Jewel Manor Day Treatment Center and was a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Paul Childers Sr.; son, Paul Childers Jr.; great-grandson, Tyler Scott Bailey and great-great grandson, Christopher Tyler Almonrode.
She is survived by her four daughters, Gladys Wesley (Ron), Leona Burns (Don), Bonnie Bayse (Don) Esther Shultz; daughter-in-law, Pam Childers; sister, Ethel Walker; 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Her visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
