PEERCE, EDWARD A., 82, of Louisville, passed away Friday June 14, 2013 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

He was a native of Grayson County KY, a retired employee of Henry Vogt Machine Co., a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, and an Army veteran of the Korean War. Edward loved doing volunteer work for Sts. Mary & Elizabeth, and boys and girls sports at Pleasure Ridge Park High School. He also enjoyed playing music with his friends at various nursing homes and community centers.

Mr. Peerce was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Ray Peerce; seven brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, the former Delora Etter; a son, Stephen Edward Peerce; daughters, Lisa Marie Merkel (Bernie) and Mary Lynn Meredith (Boyd); sister, Louise Webb; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass of celebration for Mr. Peerce will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1925 Lewiston Dr. Interment with military honors will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday.
