SULLIVAN, EDWARD B., 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 16, 2012. He was born in Little Rock, AR and spent most of his childhood in Mississippi.
Mr. Sullivan attended Mississippi College and was graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned his BA and MA degrees. He also earned a Rank I at Western Kentucky University, all in educational administration. Mr. Sullivan served as an educator for 38½ years. He was a school administrator in Mississippi and he was principal at Lassiter, Parkland, and Iroquois Middle Schools and at Wellington and Gutermuth Elementary Schools. He was a teacher at Valley High School for 3 years. Mr. Sullivan was a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, and the National and Kentucky Education Associations. He taught Sunday School at Valley View Baptist Church, Louisville, and Corinth Baptist Church, McQuady, Ky. for many years. Mr. Sullivan was an ordained minister, a Gideon, a Mason of the Bowie Lodge in Sumrall, MS, and a Eagle Scout.
Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Sullivan; and a daughter, Jean Sullivan.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Martha (Mosley) Sullivan; daughters, Mary Wolf (Robby), and Diana Gallusser (Kevin); sister, Pat Sumrall (Donald); eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012 11 a.m. at the Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be held Wednesday June 20, 2012 from 2-8 p.m.
