JONES, ELMER OTIS, 88, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Kindred Hospital.

He was born in Round Hill, KY, to Elmer Joab and Gracie (Hack) Jones.

Otis was a retired Millwright with 37 years service at International Harvester. He was one of the first to be hired at the plant. He was a member of Shively Heights Baptist Church and was a World War II Army veteran, having served with the Army Engineers, and was awarded 5 Bronze Stars.

Otis was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Norma (Likens) Jones; a son: Robert Jones, his parents, a brother: William Jones and a sister: Ethel Elmore.

Survivors include his children: Ronald Jones (Tammy) and Deborah Bartsch (Ed); six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two brothers, Bernie Ray Jones (Joyce), Bruce Jones and two sisters, Helen Johnson and Lucille Taylor.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Thursday 2 - 8 PM and Friday 9 - 1 PM.
