Elvis S. "Red" Wright WRIGHT, ELVIS S. "RED," 85, of South Louisville, peacefully passed from this life on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was a retired typewriter and bookkeeping machine repairman for the Underwood Company, a former employee of the Dehler Brothers Industrial Supply Company, and the Schiller Hardware Company, a 60 plus year member of Epworth United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir for 56 of those years, a former member of Suburban Masonic Lodge #740 and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Hazel Knuckles; a son, Richard Wright (Joani); a daughter, Julie Denton (Scott); grandchildren Christa Wright and Jacob and Ryan Denton.
A service to celebrate Mr. Wright's life will be held at noon Monday at Epworth United Methodist Church, 919 Palatka Road with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3601 Taylor Blvd., and after 11 a.m. on Monday at the church.
