HOWARD, EMMALENE JONES, 78, of Louisville passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Baptist Hospital East.
She was born on October 2, 1933 in Hartford, KY to the late Ania Jones and Augusta Shaver.
She was a graduate of Western Kentucky University, a math teacher for 28 years with the Jefferson County Public School System, primarily serving at Jeffersontown High School. She was a member of Who's Who of American College Students.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two daughters, Cynthia Lynn Howard and Cheri Lane Howard.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Clarence Harvey Howard; a daughter, Cathy Howard Arvin; grandchildren, Cheri Arvin Withrow (Chad), Cristen Em Arvin and Clayton Howard Arvin; and four sisters, Maxine Dodd, Norine Brown, Flora Norsworthy and Opal Galvin.
A celebration of her life will be conducted Thursday at noon at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road with burial in Louisville Memorial Garden West. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
