Von Kannel Jr., Ernest "Ernie" View/Sign Guest Book VON KANNEL, ERNEST "ERNIE" JR., 85, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Jewish Hospital. He was born in Lexa, AK. He worked for Stitzel Weller Distillery for 20 years and later owned and operated Ernest Von Kannel & Son Construction Company. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Chapel Park Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Ernest Von Kannel, III; and sister, Flora Mae. Ernie is survived by his daughter, J. Diane Henry; sons, John R., Joel E. (Sandy) and Jay S. (Lori) Von Kannel; 8 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; niece, Pat Ryden (Dave); two great-nephews; one great-niece; and extended family and friends. His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday.
