Ernest Tharp

Ernest Gilbert Tharp, 90, husband to Grace (Pack) Tharp, passed away at home on Saturday May 9, 2020.  He was born to the late Arthur and Carrie (Hawkins) Tharp in Lebanon, Kentucky on September 29, 1926.  He was raised by Lee and Norma (Bryant) Marcum.

He also preceded in death by grandchildren, Scott, Stephanie, Michael and his siblings Marvin Tharp, Arthur Tharp, Dorothy Roby and son-in-law Roy Swansegar.

Gil was a truck driver for Ready Mix Concrete and was a member of South Louisville Christian Church.  He loved to fish, work in his garden and visiting thrift stores

Besides his wife of 72 years he is survived by their children, Beverly Swanseger of Versailles, Debbie Embry (Jerry) of Eastview, Greg Tharp (Karen) of Elizabethtown,  grandchildren, Ted (Tina), Tim (Brenda), Adam (April), Tracy (Jimmy J.) along with 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
