TAYLOR, ERKSIN "CLEO," 87, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Baptist Health.
Cleo was a World War II Navy veteran, a lifetime member of the Church of Christ, an amateur photographer, and a retired truck driver for Banner Transfer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Margaret Baker; and his parents, Erksin and Georgiana Taylor; and his two sisters, Elise Falkland and Carlene Taylor.
Erksin is survived by his son, Danny Ray Taylor (Kathleen); daughter, Linda Clark (Tom); sister, Lorene Brown (Rodney); grandchildren, Tonya Perkins, Tara Istre, Derrick Anson, Dana Mitchell, Chris Taylor, Denise Clark, Lisa Clark-Hagan and Paula Bucko; great-grandchildren, Crystal, Morgan, Landon, Kendal, Reagan, Gregory, Evan, Cassie, Hunter, Haley, Reese, Collin, Chase, Lily and Jackson; three great-great-grandchildren, Kelan, Conner and Carson.
Over the last several years, Cleo developed a very close relationship with Cleo Smith. They attended Sellersburg Church of Christ and expanded their faith through tapes, and phone communications.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Highlands.
