KITCHEN, EUGENE "SHORTY," 92, passed away peacefully Wednesday April 11, 2012, with his family by his side.
He was born in Livingston Co., KY to Claude and Pearl (McClure) Kitchen.
"Shorty" was an insurance agent with National Life & Accident Co. for 28 years and a faithful member of Grace Baptist Tabernacle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Jimmy Chandler.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Louise (Bratcher) Kitchen; his children, Sharon Chandler and Mike Kitchen; four grandchildren, Jeremy Chandler, Amanda Gatewood (Jonathan), Danielle and Dylan Kitchen; three great-grandchildren, Payton, Layla and Madelyn. Also surviving are three brothers; three sisters; two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Sunday 12 - 8 p.m.
