Evelyn Brumleve

BRUMLEVE, EVELYN JANE, 87, of Louisville died February 10, 2014. She was born November 4, 1926 to Edwin and Eva (Harbeson) Hochstrasser in Corydon, IN. She married her husband Norman on April 3, 1948. They shared 53 years together. She had a very special gift for making friends easily and enjoying life. She was a member of the American Legion Post #220 and worked numerous years at Olin Mathieson Ammunition Plant. She was preceded in death by husband Norman; newborn son Clyde Louis; brothers Oscar and Edwin (Junior) Hochstrasser; and son-in-law Jim Cochran. Survivors include her children, Jeannie Cochran and Laura Ann Koenig (Steve); grandchildren, Annie Jo Box (Jamie), Denny Cochran (Amber), Sarah, Daniel and Joseph Koenig; great-grandchildren, Joey, Jacob, Ava and Kinley; sisters, Nell Mason and Jean Carlow. Special thanks to her "family" at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany, Indiana for the loving care given to "Aunt Jane." Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Ratterman Grand Chapels, 4832 Cane Run Road with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorial gifts may be made to Providence Retirement Home, Spiritual Care Department, c/o Sister Agnes.
