DAVIS, EVELYN J., 89, of Louisville passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Forum at Brookside with her family by her side. Evelyn was a member of Shively Baptist Church for 58 years, a member of the Eastern Star, and avid U of L sports fan and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 49 years, Joseph A. Davis Sr. Evelyn is survived by her sons; Bob Davis (Carole), Joey Davis ( Judy), Jim Davis (Janet), grandchildren; Jeff Davis (Julie), Kristen Carrico (Eric), Alissa McDonough ( Mike), Jay Davis (Susan), Jimi Davis, six great grandchildren and sister; Jenrose Sturgeon. Her funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ratterman Funeral Home 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville, KY 40243 with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery to follow.
