At 6:35 am on Thursday, May 5th 2016, 98 year old Fleeda Mae Carter left this life to join her heavenly father, whom she so dearly loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents Flora Fain Mason and Richard Mason Sr., her husband James Earl Carter, son James Vernon Carter, brothers Lloyd Richard Mason Jr., Marvin Mason, Donald Mason and Sisters Helen Anderson and Dorothy Rust.
She is survived by her sister Joy Gobin (Pat), brother Earl Carter (Freeda), daughter in laws, Sharon and Linda Carter, grandchildren, Keith Carter and Brent Carter(Caryn), Great Grandchildren Megan and Courtney Carter and great great-grand daughter Mellie Culver.
Born on July 7th 1917 in Lebanon Junction, Ky. and raised in Livingston, Ky., Fleeda settled in Louisville, Ky. where she lived for more than 50 years. A graduate of Bereau College and sponsor of Liberty University, Fleeda spent the majority of life working for the Lord. As a faithful member of Victory Memorial Baptist Church, Fleeda utilized life seeking the Lord and his will. Fleeda enjoyed missionary work and was blessed to visit the Holy Land twice in her lifetime. A powerful woman of God, Fleeda touched the heart and soul of all who were blessed to know her. Fleeda prayed daily for all those who crossed her path to see the light of God in her eyes and she surely shined bright!
