He was a retired sergeant major for the US Army and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a Mason and a lifetime member of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Braniger; and children, Nancy and Michael Braniger.
His service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be Monday 3-8p.m. at the funeral home.
