Fred Franklin

Franklin, Overseer Fred D. Jr.,79, native of Chicago, IL, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015.He Pastored Mt. Sinai AOH Church of God for 35 years, was a US Army veteran, a retiree from the US Postal Service, a published poet and a kind hearted man of God.He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jessie M. Franklin; children, Lynn Bowman, Gena Redmon, Kevin Franklin, Tanesha Franklin, Britteney Franklin and Phonecia Carney; grandchildren, John "A.J." Redmon, III, Kevin "K.J." Franklin, Jr., Jonathan Redmon, Jordan Redmon, Brianna Bowman and Genesis Dennison; a host of church family and friends.His funeral will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 at Church of the Living God, 1414 Algonquin Parkway with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at Mt. Sinai AOH Church of God, 3113 Hale Avenue. Arrangements entrusted to G.C. Williams Funeral Home.
