Freda B. Smith

Freda B. Smith, 75, wife of Tommy Smith, died Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Norton Audubon Hospital. She was born in Louisville, Ky. December 30, 1943 the daughter of the late Louch & Ella Elmore Badget. Freda was the co-owner along with her husband of Tommy’s Place which they opened in 1965 and was the backbone of several family businesses.  She was a devoted member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was always the strength of the family, devoted to volunteering in her community and was always ready for an adventure, always having a suitcase ready. Tommy’s one and only love is now on her final journey.

Besides her husband of 56 years she leaves to cherish her memory, children, Tammy (Eugene), Mitzi, Tommy (Shelly), April (Craig) and Shannon (Bobby), sisters, Doris Sales, Betty Smith and Junita Cox, in-laws, Charles Smith, Jimell Woods and Joe Smith. 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews also survive.

Freda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

A funeral service celebrating Freda’s life will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Hwy. visitation will be from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm on Monday.
