Cunitz, Frederick Ralph "Fritz" View/Sign Guest Book CUNITZ, FREDERICK "FRITZ" RALPH, 78, of Louisville, passed away Friday, November 28, 2008 in Lakeland, FL. He was a native of Franklin County, IL and was born 1930 in St. Louis, MO. He was a member and volunteer at Okolona Christian Church and a retired yardmaster with CSX railroad where he had 38 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, American Legion and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and received the Japan's Occupational Medal, Korean Service Medal with five Bronze Camp stars, Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star Medal, District Unit Emblem, National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Defense Medal. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Daisy Cunitz; and brothers, George William and Charles Ray Cunitz. He is survived by his wife Delores "Gerry" Johnson Shrout; sister, Sarah Ann Clinton of Christopher, IL; daughter, Sara Mae Simms (Danny); sons, Frederick Merle Cunitz (Missy) and Christopher Leslie Shrout (Sarah) all of Louisville, and David Ralph Cunitz of Enid, OK; grandchildren, Tabitha and Stephanie Cunitz and Christian and Erica Shrout; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Arch L. Heady & Son, Okolona with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Okolona Christian Church Building Fund.
