Gayle Portman

Gayle Lucille Portman, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away with her loving husband and granddaughter by her side on June 6, 2022.  She was born on November 1, 1940.

Gayle worked as a dispatch operator at Dauenhauer Plumbing until she became a mother. She then devoted her days to being a loving mother to her two sons and a devoted wife to her husband. In her spare time she adored her gardens and yard-selling and was known affectionately as “The Flower Lady”.

She is preceded in death by one brother; her mother, Pauline; her step-father, Alvin; and her sons, Mark and Steve.

Left to cherish the memories of Gayle’s life is her husband, Raymond; her granddaughter, Taylor; and her great-granddaughter, Stevie.

A celebration of Gayle’s life will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022, at 7:30PM at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Highway.  A memorial gathering will be held from 5PM until service time for friends to call at the funeral home.
