George H. Brooks Sr. ShareE-mail Visit Guest Book BROOKS, GEORGE H. SR., 83, a native of Independence, KY was called home by God on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Norton Hospice Unit.
He is an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the House of Christian Fellowship. Big George loved to watch NASCAR racing, play bingo and go fishing.
He is survived by his children, Ricky (Debbie), George Jr., (Blanche), Thomas "Jimbo" Brooks (Cathy), Mary Brooks (Raymond), Debra Brooks and Susan Delaney (John). He is also survived by two brothers and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, step grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of George's life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Southern Home of Arch L Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday.
