George Sadler

October 12, 1918 — April 5, 2010

LOUISVILLE - Mr. George Alford "Beaver" Sadler, aged 91 of Louisville, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010. He was a member of Westport Road Baptist Church, a WWII Army Veteran, recipient of a football scholarship and graduate at WKU, a Kentucky Colonel, a coach at Munfordville and Hiseville High Schools, Campbellsville College and Morehead State University where he was also a professor, and a member of KAHPERD. Upon retirement he served as a foreign missionary for the Southern Baptist IMB. He was preceded in death by his son, George Ronald Sadler. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Laura Elizabeth; children, Dr. Nancy Sue Corbett, Laura Jean Sadler-Harperink (George), John Cad Sadler (Teresa), Sally Anne Tisdale (Eric). Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral Ceremony will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010 at his church, 9705 Westport Road, Louisville, with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 7 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Middletown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons.
