BODEMAN, GERALDINE S. "GERRI," 86, of Louisville, passed away Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Elizabethtown Nursing Home in Elizabethtown, KY.

She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.

Gerri worked at John Filson Elementary School in the cafeteria and at the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant for 10 years; however, first she was a wife and mother. She was married at St. Paul's United Church of Christ at Brook and Broadway on July 26, 1946; she was a member of Bethel St. Paul for many years; however most recent she was a member of Hikes Point Christian Church on Hikes Lane and re-baptized on Easter Sunday, 2010. She was an Eastern Star member for over 40 years with the Middletown Chapter.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Theodore (TJ) Bodemann, Jr. (Bodie); children, Pamela M. Ragsdale, Dennis Bodemann and former daughter/son -in-laws, Brenda Landers and Edward Ragsdale; four grandchildren, Damon Ragsdale (Cynthia), Brett Bodemann (Carrie), Derek Ragsdale, and Chanel Ragsdale; five great-grandchildren, Samantha (10) and Brett Michael (8) Bodemann (Brett & Carrie); Austin Ragsdale (6) (Derek Ragsdale); Payton (2) and Dalton Ragsdale (4 months) (Damon & Cynthia Ragsdale); sister, Doris Weibel of Florida; brother-in law, Cornelius (Red) Meffert and Kenneth Koenig; along with many nieces and nephews, Elise Bodemann of Madison, IN.

She is preceded in death by granddaughter, Chanel Renee Ragsdale; parents, Charles Lester and Muriel Carvel Simpson; sister, Queenie Laverne Meffert; father and mother-in-law, T.J. Bodemann, Sr. and AdaLena Bodemann; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Kays and Margaret Koenig; brothers-in-law, John W. Kays, Sr. and Norman J. Weibel; nephews, Kermit Koenig and Eugene Voll, Sr.; great-nephew, Eugene Voll, Jr.

Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road with internment in the Mosaic Garden of Louisville Memorial Gardens on Dixie Highway. Visitation will be from 12-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Gerri, I love you and miss you so much, I'll see you someday too and I hope sooner rather than later. I don't want to live without you. You are my sweetie and I'll bring you some gum and we'll ride on the bicycle handlebars. Love Bodie.

Mom, your life has been precious to me and I will truly miss you, you have been my best friend, your honesty and feisty ways. You made me who I am today as a woman and mother. I love you with all my heart and may you rest in peace finally without pain and suffering. God Bless you always!! Take care of Chanel and I'll see you someday.
