TRUSTY, GEORGE E. SR., 90, of Louisville, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 peacefully at his home with family by his side.
He was retired from American Air Filter after 34 years, as a nuclear inspector. He was also VP of UAW local 862 for a few years. He was a proud Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines and a member of Iroquois American Legion Post #229.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Louise Trusty; and sisters, Mary Ellen Hirst and Abby Pugh.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Patricia Trusty; his children, Sandra Hale (Raeburn), Donna "Katy" Lepping (Bob), George "Butch" Trusty Jr. (Sandi) and Deborah Berry (Jack); his brothers, James Trusty, Marvin Trusty (Joetta) and Anthony Trusty (Lucy); his sister, Nancy Younger (Patrick); eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He touched many lives and will be greatly missed, but we know he is at peace.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Sunday and after 11 a.m. on Monday.
