Glenda Hill

November 29, 1940 — April 14, 2018

Glenda Joyce Hill, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, April 14, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was a pillar of strength for those who knew and loved her. Glenda was truly the matriarch of the Hill family. Her love for her husband, her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds. Holidays were never complete without huge family gatherings at "Pawpaw and Nanny's house." Glenda also never hesitated to tell you what she thought. Her wise insight got many in her family through difficult times.
Glenda was an independent woman. She owned and operated her own restaurant , Glenda's Family Restaurant on Dixie Highway, for several years. She also had a stellar career as a Mary Kay Director. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling, conversations over a hot cup of coffee, a good glass of wine, occasional trips to the gambling boats and just getting the most out of life. Most of all, she loved being around her family.
Bob and Glenda are members of the Westport Road Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by the following members of her family: her brother Lewis Stotts; her son and daughter-in-law Rob & Medowe Hill; her daughter Sherry Sims; and her grandson Brandon Schildknecht.
She is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Robert "Bob" Hill. Bob and Glenda were happily married for 35 years.
She also leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Martie Veverka, Cindy Aberli (David), Deana Nash (Bob), Sandy Hack (David Hendrix) and Rhonda Culver (Allen).
She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
