MARTIN, GLENDAL W., 88, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Suburban Hospital, leaving the family with great leadership and memories.

A native of Hopkinsville, he was the founder of Martin Flooring where he worked for over 50 years, he was a member of the Church of Christ and the Maple Floor Manufacturing Association, where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006 and was a Navy veteran who survived World War II.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ione (McKinney); parents, Almer and Ethel Martin; brother, Harold Martin; and sister, Mildred King.

He is survived by his children, Kenneth Martin (Faye), Larry Martin (Peggy), Nancy Wells (Eddie), Ronnie Martin (Cheryl) and Rhonda Martin (David); brother, James Martin; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.

His funeral will be Saturday, 10 a.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. Burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday.
