Gracie Skaggs

SKAGGS, GRACIE J., 87, went to be with the Lord and her heavenly family and friends on Monday, November 4, 2013. She was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and a retiree of Philip Morris. She called Wesley Manor Retirement Community home for almost nine years. There she made many friends who quickly became a part of her family. Her family wishes to express deep appreciation to our Wesley Manor "family" for all the love, care, laughs and support given to her in the last years of her life. She truly loved living at Wesley Manor and was able to leave as she wished..." feet first." She was the beloved widow of Kenneth F. Skaggs, sister of Ellis Whitlow, and daughter of Henry and Norma Whitlow. Left to cherish her memory are: daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Bill Henderson; grandchildren, Corey, Stephanie and Amy; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Chasity and Zachary; as well as a host of other family and friends. Her funeral service will be on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Arch L. Heady Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 8519 Preston Hwy., with entombment following in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visiting will be on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests memorial donations to the Wesley Manor Charitable Care Program.
