PIERCY, GRADY OLSON, 89, returned to his heavenly father Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the VA Hospital with his loving family at his side.
Grady was a faithful member of Shively Christian Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School superintendent and bus minister. Grady was a member of the Masonic Lodge 32nd degree, a member of Iron Worker Local 70, and a proud member of the armed services, serving in the Army during World War II.
Grady is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Stanley and Eva Story Piercy.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 65 years, Lois Grider Piercy; daughters, Carol Piercy Wilson (Walt) and Diana Piercy Jacobi (Tony); grandchildren, Eddie Wilson (Christina), Sloane Jacobi Barnett (Seth) and Lindsay Jacobi Miller (Brian); great-grandchildren, Pierce and Parker Wilson, Fielder Barnett and Baby Miller who will arrive in November; sister, Barbara Piercy Hood (Otha); and niece, Karen Hood Clem (Harold).
The service to honor the life of Grady will be noon Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
