SORRELS, GRAYSON, 84, passed away January 2, 2013 at his home.
He was member of Heritage Baptist Church, Grayson served the Lord, his family and friends as well as the people of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. In addition to working for General Electric, he served as a Deputy Sheriff, was District Chairman of the Democratic party, and in the administrations of former Governors Martha Layne Collins, Wallace Wilkinson, Paul Patton and Ernie Fletcher.
He was preceded in death his daughter, Shirley Horn; and stepsons, Danny Gayle Robertson and Ronny Dale Robertson.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Darlene (Gaskin) Sorrels; daughter, Barbara S. Ferguson (Mike); stepdaughter, Anna Jean Russell (Donald Lee ); brothers, Orebon and Douglas Sorrels; sisters, Harriet Lafon, Lena Rouzer, Mae Sergeant and Velma Taylor; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens (West). Visitation will be held Sunday from 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
