H. Ray Pait, Jr., 66, of Mt. Washington, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his loving family on September 27, 2021. He was a devout man of the Christian faith. Ray was an alumnus of Butler High, a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. During his distinguished and award-winning career, Ray held multiple director level positions at Churchill Downs, in the fields of Project Management, Admissions and Security. He had a distinguished career with over 25 years of Law Enforcement Service. He led the planning and coordination efforts for security teams representing both national and international dignitaries and provided personal security for the world’s most influential leaders. He served as an adjunct instructor for U of L. Ray was a man of many talents; he was a true leather craftsman and organic gardener. He leaves behind a tremendous legacy of love and devotion to his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty Pait. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 46 years, Debbie, his son, Brian Nathanael (Jennifer), grandchildren, Lily Claire, Kelsey Blaire and Theodore Nathanael, stepmother, Barbara Pait, sisters, brother and countless family and friends. The family requests that due to COVID-19, masks must be worn during the visitation and service.
