Harlan Winterberger

March 10, 1919 — May 31, 2008

WINTERBERGER, HARLAN P., 89, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Oaklawn Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was a retired welding engineer with the Kentucky Ford Truck Plant and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. Harlan's memberships included Westport Road Baptist Church, Sons of the American Revolution and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Winterberger. Survivors include his granddaughter who was like a daughter to him, Kim Cowan (Chris); son, Terry Lane Winterberger; great-granddaughter, Katie; two brothers, Robert E. and Charles L. Winterberger; two sisters, Ruth Vandenakker and Kathryn Richard. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Westport Road Baptist Church, 9705 Westport Road. Burial will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be held Monday from 3-8 p.m. at Arch L. Heady & Sons, Westport Road at Herr Lane. Memorial gifts may be made to Westport Road Baptist Church.
