WRIGHT, HAZEL MARIE, 79, of South Louisville, peacefully passed from this life on Monday, February 14, 2011.
She graduated from the Norton Memorial Infirmary School of Nursing in 1954, received her Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in English from Georgetown College in 1958 and was a Registered Nurse at Norton's Hospital for 37 years. She was a 51 year member of Epworth United Methodist Church and a member of the choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Elvis S. Wright; mother and father, Eliza and Elhanon Knuckles; and her siblings, Gordon, Etta, Raymond, Fannie and Elmer.
She is survived by her children, Richard Wright (Joani) and Julie Denton (Scott); sister, Mabel McIntyre (George); and grandchildren, Christa Wright, Jacob and Ryan Denton.
A service to celebrate Hazel's life will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Epworth United Methodist Church, 919 Palatka Road with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 360l Taylor Blvd. and after 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
