NEW ALBANY - Harbin, Helen M., 85, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
She was the former Helen Schafroth and was a member of Lynnhurst United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace W. Harbin; her parents John and Mary Schafroth; and great-granddaughter, Kayla Ratliff.
Survivors include her son, Wallace W. Harbin II (Margie Denton), Asheville, NC; three daughters, Linda Chambers and Karen Harbin, Louisville and Siana Kuhns (Harvey), Flagstaff, AZ; her brother, Charles E. Schafroth (Sally), Oregon; three sisters, Martha Holliger and Alberta Downs, Louisville and Mary Rose Back (Warren), Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Helen's funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville, 1846 E. Oak St., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday before the service.
