He was a member of Valley View Church, and retired from American Standard and a member of the pipefitter Union, he is an Army Veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Donaldson; sister Dorothy Hartgrove.
He is survived by his children Barbara Schmelz (David), Patty Berla (Ed) and Larry Donaldson (Cathy); brother James K. Donaldson; two sisters Bertie Smith and Ruth Curtis; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens (West). Visitation will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
