Herbert Sanders

SANDERS, HERBERT HOOVER, 83, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013. He was a retired master welder for Tube Turns and member of Faith Chapel General Baptist. An Army veteran of both World War II and Korea, he spent 1950 to 1953 as a POW/MIA. Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Betty Louise Sanders. He is survived by his children, Daniel Sanders (Tisha) and Celia Broughton (Scott); grandchildren, Samantha and Megan; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Wiladean Highbaugh. His service will be noon Wednesday at Faith Chapel General Baptist, 4720 Dover Road, with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway and at the church Wednesday after 10 a.m. until his service.
