Herman William Roggenkamp Jr., 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 28, 2021 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. He was born on July 14, 1933 in Louisville, the son of the late Herman Sr. And Pauline Roggenkamp. Herman was a proud Army Veteran that served in the Korean War, and was a member of Bethlehem Church of Christ in Louisville. He is survived by his daughter, Janet Yates (David), son, William Kirk Roggenkamp (Cathy Hill), brother, Rudolph Roggenkamp Sr., grandchildren, Lily Roggenkamp, Ross, Samuel and Nicholas Yates, as well as a large extended family. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jacqueline, sisters, Koty Cooper and Pauline Wiedmar. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Norton Audubon Hospital for the wonderful care they gave to Herman. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Herman’s honor to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or WHAS Crusade for Children.
