Hersil Miller Jr

Hersil Lee Miller, Jr. 84, passed away on Thursday August 24, 2017 at Baptist Healthcare.
He was born to the late Hersil L., Sr. and Clella (Mooman) Miller in Morganfield, KY on May 6, 1933. He is, also, preceded in death, by the mother of his children, Peggy Helen Miller, daughter Dixie Miller Justice, siblings Ronnie Miller and Martha Miller McGary.
Hersil retired as a Master Sgt. in the U. S. Army Reserves, he worked as a CRP instructor at American Red Cross, was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, a Kentucky Colonel, and member of A.M.O.R.C. He graduated from Silver Creek High School, was a member of Unity of Louisville, and was a resident of Wesley Manor.
He is survived by his children, Terry Pitzel (Steven), Debi Miller, and Glen E. Miller along with grandchildren, Jessica Sprouse, Sarah Stout Modarelli (Nicholas), Erin Tierney (Brian), Johnny Kovach, Corey Herbert (Ilissa), great-grandchildren Cian Tierney, Sophia and Carson Herbert. He will also be missed by his friend and walking buddy, Ralph Phillips, and wife Sara Jane Miller.
The family would like to thank Wesley Manor, Hosparus, and Baptist Healthcare for the loving care given to their father.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 pm at the funeral home.
