Irene E. Gibson Share E-mail Visit Guest Book GIBSON, IRENE E., 96, of South Louisville, passed from this life on Monday November 30, 2009 at Summerfield Health and Rehabilitation.
She was the former Irene Evans, a native of Laurel County KY, a former employee of the old Scobee Hardware, a member of River City Worship Center, and was active with the Leukemia Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Gibson.
She is survived by her sons, Donald (Barbara), Jay (Ruby), and Steve (DeeDee) Gibson; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family would like to thank the staff of Summerfield for all the care and kindness shown to their mother.
A service of celebration for Mrs. Gibson will be held at noon Friday at the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 pm Thursday.
