ASHBY, JAMES T. "JIM," 59, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the VA Medical Center after a long illness. He had worked for Alvin's Auto Service and was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was Past Master of Shively Lodge #951 and Past National Service Officer for the Disabled American Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty J. Ashby; and his grandparents, James and Margaret Pike.

Jim is survived by his father, William T. Ashby; brother, Gerald Ashby (Lana); niece, Lori Michelle Hollon (Junior); and great- nieces and great-nephews, Savannah, Phylisha, Phillip, Vinnessa and Thomas.

His service will be held at noon on Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
