James Barker Sr

James R. Barker, Sr., 78, husband to Nellie Horn Barker, passed away Sunday December 22, 2013 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. He was born on May 21, 1935 to the late Ottis and Ruby Clay Barker in Carter County, Kentucky. He was also preceded in death by sister Betta Brandon.
James was a retired police officer for Louisville, an Air Force veteran, a member of Shively Christian Church, Masonic Lodge, and FOP # 614.
Besides his wife 55 years he is survived by children; Deborah A. Halberg (Jim), of North Carolina, James "Rob" Barker, Jr. (Tammy) and Karen Deacon (Steve) along with seven grandchildren and one great- grandchild. He will also missed by siblings; George Barker, Jo Simmons, Judy Bell, Janie McGuire, Jean Mitchell and several nieces and nephews.
