James Blanton

Blanton, James Ray,52, entered into rest and met his Lord on April 9, 2015, after a long fight with cancer.Jim was the oldest son of Mary Elizabeth and Charles Ray Blanton. Jim had two brothers, Jeffery Scott and Joseph Charles. Survivors include his mother, Mary Blanton, brother Joseph Blanton, sister in law, Robin Blanton, nieces; Ariel, Abigail, and Amelia and nephew Charlie. His faithful companion, Kathleen Quinn and her daughters Megan and Mollie, along with his lifetime friend, Ted Dennis. Jim loved being outdoors spending his time fishing and camping. He had interest in racing cars and enjoyed the NHRA Drag racing circuit. Jim was a very giving person and loved helping others. He loved his family and was a true father figure for Meghan and Mollie. His memorial service will be held on Wednesday at noon at the W. G. Hardy funeral home with burial following at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Memorial visitation will be on Wednesday after 10am at the funeral home.
