CLEMENTS, JAMES EMANUEL "JIM," 78, of Louisville, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011, at The Forum at Brookside.
Jim was a man of his time. He was born during the The Great Depression to a large bustling military family, and grew up in a tiny little house in an era now passed. Character was what made a man a 'man' and his was impeccable. He was a man of honor. Integrity afoot, he toed the line, went strictly by the book and seldom, if ever, broke a rule. His lifetime commitment was to his family until his last breath. A paradoxical man, he was the toughest of the tough and at the same time the most loving of men. 'I love you' were words he was not afraid of and he used them freely. Jim Clements never met a stranger in his life and most people who knew him will always remember him that way.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his four children, June Carol Sengelaub.
He left this earth wrapped in a shroud of love.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army, received his B A from the University of Louisville and was a retired pharmaceutical sales representative for Norwich Eaton/division of Proctor & Gamble.
He is survived by his loving wife, Justine (Cheek) Clements; sons, Greg Clements (Debbie) and Mark R. Clements; daughters, Lynn Marie Ringo (Dean) and Lesa Miller (Louis "Dusty"); and grandchildren, Lauren Metcalf (Kevin), Emily Ringo and Adam Ringo (Samantha).
His funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011 at St. Martha Catholic Church, 2825 Klondike Lane, with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens East Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. Wednesday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Mass of the Air.
