GATHOF, JAMES K., 75, of Shively, returned to his Heavenly Father on April 7, 2012.
Mr. Gathof was a maintenance operator at the L&N Federal Building and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Among those that preceded him in death include his parents, Stephen and Mary Gathof; daughter, Cathy Bucher; and sister, Pat Livers.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 50 years, Joyce Gathof; son, Kenny (Karen) and Kevin (Kim) Gathof; daughter, Teresa (Jim) Wooldridge; son-in-law, Steve Bucher; six grandchildren, Jared, Jacob, Mikey, Matthew, Amanda and Ethan; brothers, Stephen, Jack and Tom Gathof; sisters, Ginger Skaggs, Joyce Grider and Shirley Craddock.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with internment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 1-8 p.m. at Schoppenhorst.
