James "Jimmy" Walter Burton

James "Jimmy" Walter Burton, 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on July 7, 2023.  He was born on December 17, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Evelyn Houchen and George Lawrence Burton.

Jimmy worked for over 25 years at Hubble Metals.  He was the President of the Barkley Democratic Club and a member of the VFW.  He enjoyed horse racing.  Jimmy had a huge heart and everyone that knew him loved him.  He will be greatly missed.

Preceding him in death was his parents; his brothers, William Burton, Donald Burton, Larry Burton and Theodore Burton; his sisters, Elizabeth Whelan, Dorothy Fleck, Barbara Watson and Helen Davis.

Left to cherish Jimmy's memory is Mildred Grimes; his daughters, Loralynn Burton and Diane Quill; his stepsons, Roger Grimes and Robert Grimes; his 7 grandchildren; his 3 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Goldie Masticola, Betty Hayes and Karen Hatfield; his brother, Ronnie Burton; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 2PM, on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Homes West, 4400 Dixie Highway. Friends may call on the family from 10AM until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
