MAY, JAMES ROBERT, 77, of Fairdale, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013.
He was retired as a engineering technician specialist with General Electric for 42 years, deacon at Fairdale Baptist Church and spent fifty years serving the community as a member of the Fairdale Fire Dept. Through this and everything he did, he impacted the lives of everyone he met. He truly loved his family, his church, the firehouse and the Fairdale community.
He was a loving, caring and giving man, a husband of 57 years, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jenny; his children, Phyllis May Dobson (Larry), Sandy May Brewer (Kerry); his grandchildren, Ashley, Alex and Kara; sister, Faith Dixon; and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at noon on Wednesday at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Rd., with entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
