Pearson, James,91, of Louisville, returned to his heavenly Father, Wednesday, October 29, 2014. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Force in Europe and in the Pacific. Jim was a retired employee of Pillsbury Foods, a long-time volunteer at the Robley Rex Medical Center (VA Hospital) and a faithful 40 year member of Shawnee Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Van and Mary Pearson; sisters, Minnie Jamison and Evelyn Hedges and brothers, Bob, David, Gilbert, Bill, Raymond and Van Jr.He leaves to cherish his Memory, his loving wife of 67 years, the former Lela Swafford; daughters, Lorna Ulmer (Charles) and Mary Boyd Hester (Warren) of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Marie Carney, Tony Carney, James Boyd, Jeff Ulmer and Andrew Ulmer; great-grandchildren, Claire and Seth Carney and Alex and George Boyd.In addition to his love for his Lord and his family, Jim had his favorite sports teams; UK Wildcats, Boston Celtics, Red Sox and the Detroit Lions.Thanks to Klondike Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their loving care and to special friend, Jim Reber, for his uplifting visits. Celebration of Life Service will be 10am Saturday, at Shawnee Baptist Church, 2214 Bank St with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8pm Friday, at J.B.
