Mr. Propes was born August 21, 1948, in Louisville. He was retired from Reynolds Metal and Alcoa Aluminum, and was a member of Second Baptist Church. He was a member of Pond River Masonic Lodge, Madeline Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, York Rite, and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Nancy Kerr Propes of Greenville; son Donald Propes of Louisville; daughter Megan (Brian) Chaney of Greenville; grandchild Lillian Chaney of Greenville; mother Helen Propes of Greenville; and brother Thomas R. Propes of Martin, TN.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at 9 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Louisvllle Memorial Gardens Chapel on Dixie Highway, with Don Fleming officiating. Burial in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Louisville. Masonic services will be held on Monday at 7:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home.
