He was a retired employee of A & H Truck Lines, a member of the American Legion Iroquois Post No. 229, and Kentucky Voice for Crime Victims, and a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Pruitt, and his granddaughter, Aleshia Combs.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Doris Schuetz Pruitt; his daughters, Becky Pruitt, Donna Combs, and Sandra Stegner (Harvey); seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his brother, Earl Pruitt; sister, Nancy Adams; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial gifts may be made to Hosparus.
