James Rice

James W. Rice, 92, husband to the late Ruby (Nallia) Rice, passed away peacefully with his family, Monday February 3, 2020.  He was born to the late Corrie and Fanola (Wess) Rice in Ashland, IL on June 24, 1927.  He is also preceded in death by his son, Michael Rice along with siblings, Chuck, Richard, Dorothy, Janet and Jack.

Jim was an accountant for Farm Credit, a WWII Navy Veteran, and he attended Ormsby Heights Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved daughter, Marsha Kennison (Gary), grandchildren, Kristin Sanders (David), Evan Sanders (Krystal), and Ashley Rice.  He will also be missed by his sister, Judy Green and two great-grandchildren, Emilee and Jaxon Sanders.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6100 Dutchmans Lane, Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205-3284.
